NCEA
There are three levels of NCEA. In general, all students work through levels 1 to 3 in their eleventh to thirteenth years at school, or at an education provider such as VSTET. For all levels 80 credits are required as follows:Level 1 – 60 credits, plus 20 credits of literacy and numeracyLevel 2 – 60 credits at level 2, plus the 20 credits of literacy and numeracy from level one. Level 3 – 80 credits, with at least 60 credits at level 3 and 20 credits at level 2.
VSTET currently offers programmes to achieve NCEA L1 and NCEA L2.
Entry Requirements
To enrol in a VSTET youth programme you must:• be a New Zealand citizen or resident aged 16 to 24 years inclusive• meet MoE/TEC Youth Guarantee fees free eligibility criteria (talk with VSTET staff)• participate in the interview process• be fit and able to cope with the physical and mental demands of your preferred programme.
Programme Duration
Duration 26 weeks, Monday to Friday inclusive, 8.30 am to 3.00 pm.

Start Dates. It could not be easier to start with VSTET. You can start any day throughout the year. If mainstream school isn’t or hasn’t worked for you, then call us. We provide small classes and a supportive environment. It is super easy to apply. Just turn up any weekday to VSTET and discuss the programmes. Our helpful staff will guide you through the enrolment process.
